Berkeley First and Imperial College London partnered to source, acquire and develop a high quality student accommodation scheme, which would give Imperial the opportunity to showcase their new ‘Gradpad’ brand, which delivers exceptionally well designed and well located accommodation, specifically for the postgraduate student. Berkeley First worked closely with Imperial College London to ensure every aspect of the development was suited to the University and its students’ needs. Specifically tailored to the postgraduate student, Griffon Studios delivers state-of-the-art accommodation that perfectly balances individual needs with opportunities to socialise and network with other students. In an industry first, Berkeley First and Imperial College sold the investment in 2011 to Legal and General through the income strip model which enables L&G to let the building to Imperial on a 45 year RPI lease after which the freehold/ownership will revert to the University.
